Located within the suburb of Joo Chiat, Joo Chiat Road is lined by pre-war shophouses, some of which house vanishing trades and old furniture shops, whilst others house modern eateries, karaoke bars and nightclubs. Walking around the neighbourhood, one can find many examples of the mix of Chinese and the Malay tradition. It is also a 10 minute drive to the beaches and parks in the East Coast and 5 minutes drive to the Parkway Shopping Centre.
The hotel is part of the Hotel 81 chain operating economical and no frill properties in Singapore. These are decent and clean hotels in a more local part of town. Contracted rooms are without window.

No restaurant in the hotel however there are varies eateries around the hotel.
Rooms are relatively small as this is a no frills hotel. There are no wardrobe in the room however rack are available to hang clothing. It is ISO 9002 certified and thus quality and cleanliness is assured. Majority of the rooms are without window. The attached bathroom is small and is quipped with standing shower.
The lobby is small with no frills, a single counter manned by friendly staff and a small sitting area.
15 kms to the nearest airport (changi), 15 minute walk to the nearest metro station (paya lebar mrt station), 5 km to the nearest station (tanjong pagar), 5 kms to city centre, 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 7 km to the nearest fair site (suntec city).
